Did you know that on average it takes between 21 and 180 days for a new action to become habit?

Where people often fail: Usually people set grand targets (like run a marathon, or lose 20Kg), but then quickly get despondent when it feels like an impossible or arduous task. This feeling actually stunts motivation rather than boosting it.

TRY THIS TO STRENGTHEN A NEW HABIT: Focus on process driven goals (like, I’m going to run every day, regardless of distance, OR, I’m going to see how many consecutive days I can get straight out of bed and go outside for 10 minutes). Track your progress with the help of The Health Fix’s habit tracker templates – Print it and put it in a prominent position that you will see every few hours.

Simply by setting less complex targets like β€˜showing up every day’ rather than more ambitious goals, you will strengthen a new routine to the point that its just part of who you are and what you do. Often the more general goal will achieve itself without you thinking about it.
