Hey! – Rob here
Your Daily Health Fix today is about …
Sugar addiction and your mood
Do you know what social media, computer games, gambling, dating apps, sms notifications, pornography and cake all have in common?
The Answer: Dopamine
How they are making your diet attempts impossible: Use of the aforementioned amusements all have the same effect on your brain – cheap wins with inherent encouragement to go back for more.
WIN WITH YOUR DIET BY – avoiding all forms of hyper-stimulation of your reward systems (neural and hormonal). Turn off phone notifications, read or watch a movie instead of playing computer games, join a club instead of scrolling social media. By reducing the repeated dosing (to the brain) of dopamine from multiple inputs, you’ll rebalance the system that causes sugar cravings and the desire for constant snacking. This way adopting new nutritional habits won’t feel like torture – and actually might be pretty easy.
Added Bonus: you’ll free up loads of time each week to do more beneficial and productive tasks and activities.
. . . That’s it for this dose,
Until the next time – Stay Motivated!💪🏼
