Your Daily Health Fix today is about … 

Setting the scene for discipline to be easy . . .

A wish without a plan is nothing more than a pipe dream, and thats just as true when it comes to your health. Heres 3 things you can do now to make sure next week is successful for you and your health and fitness goals.

1 – Meal Planning and Prep:
Use The Health Fix’s (free) meal planning templates to outline what you intend to eat each day. With the decisions made you’ll be less likely to make a poor choice at the last minute

2 – Block out your schedule:
Decide now which days you are doing which workout, and which days (or even exact times) you will go out to walk. Grey these out as busy (and non negotiable) in your digital calendar or paper diary. You may still have to employ a little discipline to get out of the house and get moving, but at least there wont be the excuse of not having time.

3 – Deal with the other friction points:
Launder your gym clothes, and pack your gym bag (and do this for the next time as soon as you get home from your workout). Go to the store or complete your online order for any meats and other ingredients you will need for the week (or take them out of the freezer). If you won’t have time to cook during the week, prepare two or three dishes today so that you have food in the fridge for the week. Lastly, have the ‘motivation and discipline’ conversation with yourself about what you’re going to do when theres a change in your plans or when you don’t feel like exercising. Prepare in advance, then the contingency plan can kick in at the same time as normal (or inevitable) procrastination tries to derail you.


Do this now for next week, and then do it every Friday or Saturday for the following weeks. This five minutes of decison making will be one of the most rewarding things you do to start the week on the right foot.
