Hey! – Rob here
Your Daily Health Fix today is about …
Myth-Busting Cholesterol
Why we need it:
Saturated fat is a great source of (slow release) energy. Additionally, it is a necessary vehicle for fat soluble vitimins such as A, D, E and K, in addition to being a source of cholesterol (which is a necessary building block for many hormones that our body produces). It’s also vital for maintaining bone integrity, a strong imune system, quality neural connections (brain function), improved lung function and even has cardio vascular protective benefits.
Common Myth:
Through corruption and bad science saturated fat has been demonized since the 1950’s. The TL;DR being the suggestion that, A) dietary cholesterol significantly increases the cholesterol in the blood, and that B), raised levels of LDL are contributary or causal the development of cardio vascular disease. – In fact neither of these mantras have been proven to be true.
Try this:
As we now know that at population levels, communities that consume the most meat have significantly better health outcomes and greater life expectancy, it’s probably time to put the fat phobic mantras aside and consume a nourishing amount of (ruminant) meat as a main component of your essential macro-nutrient and caloric sources
. . . That’s it for this dose,
Until the next time – Stay Motivated!💪🏼
